  1. My husband and I attended the London State Theater showing of Mission Impossible your opening week. It was a very enjoyable evening. We had sandwiches and drinks from the concession counter. The food was very flavorful and we enjoyed it very much. We were very excited at the prospect of having future date nights in such a pleasant surrounding.
However, I am disappointed with the movies you have had available this week and coming soon. The earlier shows would be good for children, but we have no more children left at home. The later shows you have this week and next are rated ‘R’. We have a policy of no ‘R’ rated movies, so we will not be able to attend your theater the next few weeks.
I am hoping you will offer more movies that will not offend our intelligence or our moral values. We would like to be regular patrons of your theater. You have worked hard and done such a good job getting your theater updated and ready for business. I know we are not your only customers, but we will be regular customers if your selection of movies allows it. I’m sure there are other patrons who would also like to see more G, PG, and PG 13 movies, especially families with children and teenagers, and older couples.
We see you have more ideas simmering. I hope they are well recieved by the community and that your theater becomes a place where we can all come to enjoy entertainment and visit with friends and neighbors.

    Wishing you success,
    Mary

  2. Every new movie currently out there is rated R: Straight Outta Compton, A Walk In the Woods, No Escape, Stanford Prison Experiment, Hitman Agent 47, Ricki And The Flash, American Ultra, We Are Your Friends….all of them are rated R.
Rated R movies have a more limited audience, trust us, we know. We’re trying to temper it with older PG movies – but again, the ones that are still first-run are limited.
We’re doing our best to bring London the best movies currently available. We’ll have a much wider variety of choices as we get closer to October.
Thanks for your nice words. We’ll see you soon!

  3. We hope to, but we just don’t know yet. We hope to have an idea of what’s our next few movies later this week.

  4. I would love to take my grandson to see child appropriate movies on the big screen. They don’t need to be first run….just appropriate for young children. How about showing some of the childhood “classics” ?
“THE CHILDREN’S HOUR” could run late Sat. AM, or early Sun AFTERNOON….. You could charge full adult price with one free child per adult ticket, and subsequent child tickets at half price and limit the child/adult ratio to a manageable number. You don’t want to be a “babysitter” to unsupervised children, but you could provide inexpensive entertainment options for grandparents and parents to share with their little ones….?

  5. Being a single-screen theater, it’s difficult to be everything for everyone at all times. That said, we’ve been open less than two months and have already shown child-freindly movies such as Minions, Inside Out, and Shaun The Sheep.
If we could guarantee a minimum of 60 people per showing, we’d love to do alternative programming – but that’s our break-even mark: if we show a “classic” film for a single showing – we lose money if less than 60 people attend. And that’s just on the film rental, and doesn’t take into account utilities or employees wages.
That said, be sure to sign up for our mailing list – we’ve had lots of great alternative programming with much more to come! There will even be some kids movies in the future.
Thanks for the suggestion, and we’ll try to make it work!

  6. Are things falling into place up for having suds available for the Noon-time event this Saturday the 10th?

  7. We’ve tried to get it since it opened. So far, they are not interested in us showing their movie.

  8. 1) We only have one screen.
    2) In order to get a movie when it comes out, we have to agree to the terms set by the film distributors. In this case, we need to keep Peanuts for two weeks. When Star Wars comes out, it will be a longer commitment.

  9. Deb and I attended ( for the first time in years ) and were very impressed with everything you have done. I mentioned that my cousins had managed the theater when I was young and that I had spent most of my weekends there. Thank you for the tour. The food was great. We really enjoyed our time there and will be putting it on our list of date nights. Thank you, Deb and Donnie

  10. We greatly enjoyed The Hunger Games and Star Wars. So nice to have quality movies at a local theater. The food continues to be excellent and the trays are very helpful for avoiding spills.
The theater and bathrooms are clean and comfortable.
    Keep up the good work!

  11. Is there a way we could vote on the classic/child appropriate movies you might offer? This way it might help you determine the best movie to show and to bring in more business etc.

  12. You’re more than welcome to make recommendations. There are a lot of things we have to consider with every movie, including required length-of-exclusivity (how long we have to run the movie and nothing else on the screen).
Also, many, many movies are not available to us as a small-town single screen theater, so our options are limited.
We were quite lucky to get Deadpool – we were one of only 3 theaters with 3-screens-or-less in Ohio to get a copy. Had we not gotten a copy of it, we’d have shown The Revenant for two weeks, as our options were quite limited.

  13. Our family watched The Jungle Book on Monday. It was very well done ! The animation was incredibly lifelike.
We always like to order the Panini sandwiches when we go. They are delicious. We are looking forward to Civil War this weekend! It is so nice to be able to watch a good movie close to home. Thanks London State Theater!!

  14. The New Bourne Movie that opened the last week of July 2016?
    When will it be appearing?
Thanks so much for being here in London.
